They had the idea for a tall CD style spinning rack and helped guide me through a fun design process. My first attempt resulted in a large bulky rack that was based on the large bead frames I make. After Jim and Kathy suggested taller and skinny, I went over to a music store and saw what they meant by a CD tower. The CD tower I have at home is one my Mom gave me and it is bulky.
 
I am using Poplar and Hemlock with these designs. I found that trying to use Cherry or Walnut would make the price around $150. For those types of woods I would have to custom cut every piece. The wood alone would also cost between $70 to $80 per rack.
 
The base is 7" wide and has a lazy susan so that it spins. It stands 22 1/2" tall. The inside measures 5 7/8" wide by 20" tall. There are 76 mandrels. These will hold about 988 beads that are 3/8" diameter.
