Hello! My name is Julie Sweetman, and I am the Julie in Julies Jewelry and Crafts. I am sooooo honored and excited to be featured as the June Artist of the Month on Heathers wonderful website! I have been happily designing and selling lampwork jewelry since October 2002, and Heathers beads are *definitely* among my personal favorites! Prior to first stumbling across lampwork beads on Ebay, I spent 10 years making seed bead jewelry and other craft items, selling at 1 or 2 local craft shows each year. But now I am completely hooked on making lampwork jewelry, and I dont plan on stopping anytime soon! I sell most of my jewelry via Ebay under the username jswatek, and also at my website. I have met many great lampwork artists, customers, and friends over the past several months, making this a truly rewarding and fun experience for me!
In addition to making jewelry, I enjoy spending time with my husband David (weve been married just over a year now) & our kitties Mouse & Patches. I also enjoy fitness (especially running), traveling (David and I vacationed in Hawaii and Australia for our honeymoon), reading, computers & website design, music, Broadway shows, and spending time with my family and friends. I am a 2001 graduate of the University of Michigan, where I now work full-time as a Social Science Research Assistant. Ill also be starting graduate school this fall at UM, studying Survey Methodology (kind of like sociology with a big emphasis on statistical analysis and questionnaire design). In other words, it is always very nice to relax and make jewelry whenever I can find a spare moment!
Again, I am extremely honored and delighted to be the June Artist of the Month. Thank you to everyone for stopping by, and I look forward to many more years of making lampwork jewelry!
